Workshop and Social Event Invitation
Having completed a pilot phase over the last 6 months we are now extending the programme and running a workshop on Tuesday 12th August in Glasgow to meet and inform potential new participants. Running on from the workshop, the evening social event running will bring together both existing and new participants to share experiences and discuss mentoring opportunities.

The Workshop
The half day workshop will run from 1 - 5pm and will cover the following:
  • an introduction to Mentor Exchange and the way it works
  • an introduction to the mentoring process and ways of getting the most out of it
  • an opportunity to meet other participants and discuss potential ways of working together.
The Social Event
This evening event will run between 5.45 - 8.30pm and will cover the following:
  • short presentations from 3 Mentor Exchange participants about their experience of the programmes
  • an opportunity to ask questions
  • refreshments and a chance to socialise and chat.
Mentor Exchange
To participate in the Mentor Exchange programme you must attend a workshop, so that you can find out more about the practicalities of taking part. While there will be plenty of opportunity to meet other creative practitioners and discuss possible mentoring partnerships there is absolutely no obligation to find a match on the day. The main purpose of the day is to find out more about the programme in an informative, relaxed and enjoyable way.

To create a sustainable mentoring programme participants are encouraged to both give and receive support, either working together as co-mentors or taking it in turns to be mentors or mentees in a form of mentoring relay. Although CEO will support the programme with staff time, there is no intention to offer any payments to mentors. While mentor payment is normal for some programmes, it is our aim to create a scheme where financial gain is not the motivation for participants, but rather a desire to support and be supported by fellow creatives, or indeed individuals from outwith the creative sector whose expertise you value.

How to Book
The workshop will have a limited number of places available so early booking is recommended. To reserve a place please contact events@culturalenterpriseoffice.co.uk or telephone 0844 544 9990. There will be a booking fee of £10 per person which will cover the cost of a light buffet which will be served between 5 and 5.45pm, and refreshments which will be served in the course of the afternoon and evening.

All of the participants of the pilot phase of Mentor Exchange will be invited to join the evening social event only, so there will plenty of opportunity to find out first-hand how the mentor programme has been working for the participants.
